Instructions for use

The h_da library has concluded license agreements with the respective providers for the e-media (databases, e-books and journal full texts) offered via our website.

The following generally applies to publishing offers subject to license:

Access to the full texts is permitted to employees and students of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.

  • Database content and full texts of articles and e-book chapters may only be printed or saved for personal use and for research purposes.
  • Articles may not be passed on to third parties either electronically or in printed form.
  • Systematic downloading of journal articles or database content, in particular by robots, is prohibited.
  • In the case of extensive downloads, the provider may block access not only to your own computer, but also to the entire university.

Access from the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences campus network

For the majority of journal titles and subject databases, access is controlled by checking the IP address of the requesting computer. You can access digital full texts from any computer in the h_da campus network.

Access from home

In most cases, members of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences can also use the licensed information resources outside the university network. Only a few media are excluded from remote access for licensing reasons. Remote access (proxy or Shibboleth)

Access and usage information for e-media within the scope of national licenses

Germany-wide access to the databases within the framework of the national licenses is made possible by funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and organized by these institutions:

  • Johann Christian Senckenberg University Library in Frankfurt a.M.
  • Berlin State Library - Prussian Cultural Heritage
  • Göttingen State and University Library of Lower Saxony
  • Hanover Technical Information Library (TIB)
  • Bavarian State Library Munich
  • GESIS / Information Center for Social Sciences
  • Cologne University and City Library

Individuals with permanent residence in the Federal Republic of Germany can register in person for free access if they do not have access via a university network or their academic library. This access is available to members of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences as standard.
